  • Assessment of etiologic factors, wound status and nutritional status
  • Perform ABI study to determine feasibility of compression therapy
  • Patient, family and/or caregiver education
  • Recommendations regarding the correction of etiologic factors
  • Counsel regarding appropriate topical therapy for wounds
  • Conservative debridement measures
  • Prophylactic foot and nail care for patients with diabetes and arterial disease in lower extremities
  • Anodyne therapy

 

   Ostomy
  • Pre-operative education and stoma marking in the patient’s home environment to prepare the patient for self care following ostomy surgery
  • Assessment of stoma function, pouching system, peristomal skin status and patient’s adaptation status
  • Recommendations regarding ostomy care and management, nutritional needs, peristomal skin care and prevention, & management of peristomal complications
  • Patient, family and caregiver education

 

   Continence
  • Assessment of etiological factors & incontinence patterns
  • Recommendations regarding dietary & fluid management
  • Programs for bladder retraining, intermittent catheterization, pelvic muscle exercising and containment measures
